Questions people actually ask

What does 82-0 mean in basketball?

It means a perfect NBA regular season — 82 wins and no losses. The NBA schedule is 82 games, so 82-0 is the unbeaten version of it. No team in league history has done it, which is exactly why the number gets used as a challenge.

Has any NBA team ever gone 82-0?

No — nobody has come close. The best regular season ever is Golden State's 73-9 in 2015-16, ahead of Chicago's 72-10 in 1995-96. Even those historic teams lost roughly one game a month, and Golden State went on to lose the Finals. 82-0 exists only as the challenge.

Why do people say 82-0 online?

It has become shorthand for a fantasy: a lineup so good it could not lose a single game. Team-builder games and social feeds popularized the number — draft an all-time roster, simulate the season, and see if it survives all 82. The shorthand stuck because the bar is untouched in real life.

What is the 82-0 challenge?

Each round spins a real franchise era; you draft one player into each position of your starting five, then the season simulates. Win all 82 games to reach the untouched mark.

Does the 82-0 challenge include playoffs?

No. This challenge is the NBA's full 82-game regular season: win every game and the board reads 82-0. Competitive Tournament mode carries the bracket drama separately.

What is the football version of 82-0?

In the NFL the perfect numbers are 17-0 for the regular season and 20-0 with the playoffs — one team, the 1972 Dolphins, actually finished unbeaten. Baseball's number is 162-0, and an unbeaten Premier League season is 38-0-0.

Do old eras stand a chance?

Every season is rated against its own era, so a 1996 guard and a 2024 guard compete on equal terms. Era depth is the point.
